Johnstone Creek is a small, quiet, forested campground just off Highway 3.  It is approximately 35 minutes west of Osoyoos and less than 10 minutes from Rock Creek and Kettle River Recreation Area.

This park is ideal for campers looking to stop overnight, setup a base camp to explore the area, or wish to camp in nature without all of the crowds and noise.  The park has 16 basic campsites with no hookups.  Pit toilets and a water hand pump are available.  It is advised that campers bring drinking water with them.  It is not possible to make a reservation at this park.

Campsites are often available for last-minute campers in July and August.  Fees are cash only and are self-registration.  Dogs are welcome at this park on leash.  Johnstone Creek is open seasonally from the May Long Weekend through the second weekend in September.  Johnstone Creek provides a convenient escape for campers looking for rest and relaxation in a beautiful forest setting.

The park has 38 hectares of mature Douglas fir, larch and spruce trees that provide habitat for woodpeckers and other cavity nesting bird species. White-tailed deer are often seen in the park.  Wildlife viewing opportunities can be observed from the short nature loop hike.  Access to cycling trails and river actives such as floating and swimming are available at the day-use area of Kettle River Recreation Area only 10 minutes away.
