Boundary Flavours and Celebrations
There are so many ways to enjoy the flavours and celebrations of our area. From farms to markets, music festivals to fairs, there’s no better way to fully experience the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of Boundary Country
Taste Boundary Flavours
Touring Boundary Country in summer wouldn’t be complete without stopping along the way at family-owned farms and orchards. Fresh food and big flavour are always in store. Buy some picnic ingredients at any of the five farmer’s markets held throughout our communities in summer.
Most of the restaurants in our area use local ingredients. You may have heard that we are famous for our borsch here. It’s true! You’ll find it on many of the menus of the area’s restaurants. Come discover how our Doukhobor roots still influence what’s served on our tables today. It’s a tasty way to learn about our history.
Experience Boundary Country’s warm hospitality at a whole host of summertime celebrations from one end of the valley to the other. Slow dance to cool blues tunes at the Sky High Blues Festival. Check out the beats in the bush at Midway’s annual Groove Festival. Join in the celebration at Rock Creek’s riverside bash at the Ponderosa Music Festival.
Come and experience homecoming the Christina Lake way, or the pride of Greenwood at their Founder’s Day Festival. Pull up a lawn chair and cheer on your favourite ball team at the Grand Forks Invitational. There are plenty of reasons to kick up your heels in Boundary Country.
