Boundary Economic Development Committee (BEDC)
The Boundary Economic Development Committee (BEDC) was formed by the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary. It assists the Boundary Region in finding grassroots solutions to their common economic problems.
In this role as leader and facilitator of effective community economic development, the BEDC strives to be proactive and strategic. They promote change and long term sustainability. The strive for increased community involvement, capacity and empowerment in all local initiatives. In 2008 the BEDC formed a partnership with Community Futures Boundary. The committee consists of six elected officials. They are from the geographical regions they serve: Christina Lake, Greenwood, Grand Forks, Midway, Area E and Area D.
